DISCOVER BRACELETS BY MARISSA

Bracelets by Marissa is a teen-owned and operated business that started in sunny Florida, but is now operating in central Virginia. Starting in 2016 at age 6, Marissa made rubber-band bracelets and accessories, donating half of all their sales to charity. They donated to John's Hopkins All Children's Hospital in 2016 and 2017, totaling over $400. Marissa has continued choosing organizations important to them, donating close to $2,000 to date. For 2024, Marissa is donating 20% of their sales to The Nature Conservancy.

THE STORY BEHIND THE BRACELETS

Jewelry for a Cause

It all started with a Christmas gift, and blossomed into a business, with Marissa making the request to donate half of all their sales. After a talented friend designed a logo, t-shirt, and business cards, Marissa began tagging along to local markets and craft shows with their mom, growing from a small portion of a table to their own table, selling rubber-band bracelets. They now do markets on their own, filling a whole tent with their own hand-crafted goods. With the support of their family, they are continuing to grow their business and donate more each year. Now Marissa is expanding their product line to reach a broader customer base and grow as an artist. While bracelets are no longer the main focus, they will continue to be highlighted on their table.
